What We Believe
At Lifepointe Church We Believe…
Jesus Is The Way - God Has Plan Of Salvation…It all begins with our surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior, He is the Only Way, The Only Truth, The Only Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
“And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Since the Garden of Eden, men and women have been separated from God because of a spiritual condition called death.
Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shall not eat of it: for in the day that thou eat thereof thou shall surely die.
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
When you were born physically, you began a new life with no past history, You were a baby. So when you are born spiritually, you begin a new life with God with no past history. As far as God is concerned, your past is washed away and you are now a newborn believer.
1st Peter 2:2
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.
When you make Jesus the Lord of your life and commit to follow Him, His Spirit works in you to bring about changes to your way of living.
3 Vital Keys - to growing as a believer and growing in the Love of God…
1.Read to establish God's will and plan for your daily life. (Rom. 12: 1, 2-Body is a living sacrifice)
Think on how you can apply what you read to your daily life.
It is impossible to grow in your faith in God if you are not involved with His Word. (Rom. 10:17)
2. Make a daily commitment to pray to God. (Matt. 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.)
Prayer is simply talking to and listening to God.
God is your Friend. He wants to have "fellowship" with you.
He wants you to build a relationship with Him, to know Him in a personal way. (I John 1:3)
God is your Father. He desires to meet your needs. (Matt. 7: 1 Judge Not, that ye be not judged, James 4:2 … yet ye have not, because ye ask not!)
God is your guide. He wants to lead you in His good plan for your life. (Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. John 16: 13…Guide you into all truth!)
3. Make a commitment to a local church.
Heb. 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
God has a place in the body of Christ for you. (1 Cor. 12: 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.)
You will flourish in your Christian life when you are planted in a church. (Psalm 92: 13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.)
God has provided ministry leaders so they can equip you to do what He has called you to do. (Eph. 4: 11, 12)
We Believe In Water Baptism, And Being Baptized And Filled With The Holy Spirit!
Acts 22:6 And now why are you waiting? Arise and he baptized.
Eph. 5:8 And do not he drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the “Spirit.”
Jesus said to make disciples of all people and baptize them. (Matt. 28:19)
You must first accept Jesus as Lord of your life and then you can be baptized.
When you are baptized as a believer in Christ, you are following Jesus in the experiences of His life. (Rom. 6: 1-4)
His death. His burial. His resurrection. Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
The “Promise of the Father” is being filled with the Holy Spirit. (See Acts 1:4-8 & Acts 2:1-4)
